Paloma Pay Inc. - 2020-2023
Paloma Pay is a cryptocurrency payment platform designed specifically for the US Legal Cannabis Industry.
My principal interest in the project was in the unique opportunity to onboard and acquire first-time crypto user customers from a 30 Billion dollar market that is by and large cash-only (due to federal banking laws).

MVP Piloted successfully in stores for over a year
I Co-founded, headed product design and was responsible for all designs from the initial proof of concept through the MVP that we piloted in stores. The MVP product was designed to be compliant, informed by customer and dispensary staff feedback, and offer the cryptocurrency customers have, or most likely to acquire -- in a necessarily non-custodial design that appealed to dispensaries that are cautious of taking on another perceived risk.
It was exciting to to reach customers and validate real-life demand for crypto payments from both customers and stores and to learn more about the first time crypto user's on-boarding and payment experience.
Blockchain Advocacy Coalition - 2020-2022
Blockchain Advocacy Coalition is a non-profit trade organization formed to advance blockchain policy.
*Seeing firsthand the challenges businesses faced by the requirement that they pay their state taxes in cash was the direct inspiration for the founding of Paloma Pay.

As the initial designer for Blockchain Advocacy Coalition, I created effective designs and professional visuals that engaged important stakeholders, assisted in attracting members and conveyed essential information for California legislative decisionmakers.
It was a rewarding opportunity to educate and communicate the advantages and challenges of blockchain technology to a legislative demographic that were widely uninformed on the subject.

I worked as a UX researcher with a talented team to create a mobile prototype for the alpha bridgit desktop client. The concept proved a bit abstract and a lot of time was devoted to UX research and user-testing. A successful demo was presented to and well-received by founding stakeholders of the company.
